Hi, I'm Lavell - People

I am a Mormon, a missionary, teacher, principal, bishop, scoutmaster, silver beaver award, high councilor, patriarch, sealer.

About Me

I was born and raised in Arizona. I am the oldest of seven children. I was raised in a wonderful home where I was taught to love Jesus Christ. I have always tried to follow His teachings and have taught our ten children to do the same. I chose education to be my career. I graduated from Arizona State University and have taught elementary and junior high school age children until I became an administrator. I have served on a school board for many years. I have served in the church and community as a scout master and have helped many young men achieve their eagle awards. I received my Wood Badge award and then was chosen to train and teach many men to do the same. I received the silver beaver award in scouting which was a great honor. In the church, I have served as a teacher of all ages. I have also been a bishop, a stake leader, a patriarch, and a temple sealer. I served, with my wife, on a mission in the West Indies. We entered the missionary training center fifty years to the day I entered the mission field when I served my first mission when I was twenty years old. We worked with the young missionaries and I also was blessed to give patriarchal blessings to the people of that land. I am an outdoorsman. I love the mountains and streams and all of God's creations. I love fishing and hunting. I have found many answers to my prayers while praying on a mountaintop or beside a stream of water. I married one of the sweetest girls on earth.

Hi, I'm Floyd - People

I grew up in the mountains of Arizona. My occupation was a timberfeller for 40 yrs. I Team Roped for fun. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a small sheep ranch and farm in the White Mountains of Arizona. When I was 9 yrs. old I went to work on a cattle ranch for $1.00 a day. The summer of my 13th year I went to work with my father in the log woods, cutting timber. I worked as a timberfeller for 40 years. As a youngster, my job was to keep the birds out of the orchard as we needed the fruit for the family. When I was 5 years old I told my mom," I'm going to go kill a turkey." She said, "Alright." I took the 410 shotgun, walked to the garden, shot a turkey, dragged it home and nearly gave momma a heart attack! My wife and I were married after highschool and raised 8 children. We now have many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We have been married 52 years. As a young man, I hunted mountain lions, there was a bounty on them at that time of $75.00. I only made about $8.00 to $10.00 a day and the extra money was very much needed. For many years I competed in Team Roping events throughout the Southwestern states of America. I had a partner 19 years my senior and our last roping event he was 85 years old. I now build log homes (cabins), garden, hunt, spend time with family, fish with the neighbors, gather cattle for local ranchers, and serve others in the community.

Hi, I'm Larry - People

I am a Husband, Father, Grandfather, Family Patriarch, and and Engineer, in that order of priority. I am also a Mormon.

About Me

I am in my mid 60's, and have a long term fondness for sailing. My wife of 40+ years and I have both retired from professional life. I as an engineer / operator in the nuclear power industry, she as a mid-level manager in the electronics industry. We have grown to prioritize our lives to begin with God, move to spouse, then to children, granchildren, and finally vocation and avocation. It was a growing process - it started out pretty much the opposite of the above listing! As retired people, we now spend a good bit of time on our sailboat, but we try to never lose sight of our current list of priorities! The kids love the boat too, so it makes it easy for us!

Hi, I'm Lloyd - People

I grew up in a very rural area of Utah, the Uintah Basin,on a small farm. I had a horse and dog and herded cows a lot.

About Me

I grew up as a farm boy and dearly loved the combination of freedom and responsibility such a life entailed. After highschool I worked for an oil exploration company in the 4 corners area of the country. I married a beautiful girl, Maura Hurley, in the Salt Lake Temple 1n 1956. I received a BSME in 1960 and enjoyed a career in engineering in Southern Cal from 1962 until I retired in 2001. We have lived in the same beautiful little town from the day we came to Cal and still love it much. We have four children and presently 12 grandchildren, all of whom we love dearly. Since retiring, in my free time I like to read good biographies. One of my favorite authors is David McCullough. I also like to teach in the Church and spend a lot of time in study of the scriptures. If I have a hobby it would have to be gardening, although I certainly do not consider myself an expert.

Hi, I'm Noel - People

I'm just an ordinary woman and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in south Alabama, went to college in the 60's and started a career. When I was 26 my life turned completely around. Within one year, I was diagnosed with a chronic disease, met my future husband and joined the church. We had two daughters, one of whom was born with a severe heart defect. After having her with us for almost 33 years, her heart gave out. Through our grief, the three of us left became stronger as a family. Her influence on our lives continues today.
