About Me
I love to quilt, I love music, playing the piano, serving others and being a grand mother. I love to quilt from the examples of my grandmothers and greatgrandmothers and my mother. I have been serving as a Welfare Service Missionary at our local Bishop's Storehouse here in Colorado, for almost 5 years. This helps fill my needs by serving others because my 4 children are all growen-up. I have had a love for music all my life as far back as I can remember. Music helps lift my spirits and overcome my fears. Many of my family members have loved music. I have many examples, one that of my father, my grandparents and as far back in the generations as I can remember. Music has always been an important part of who I am. I love being a mother of four wonderful children. I love my six plus grandchildren and love to spend time with them. I love the children and the hope of our future in their eyes. I have had the blessing of working with the children with the church since I was sixteen years old. The children have such a love for life and help me to remember to count my blessings. I love prayer in my daily life. We all have trials that help us to grow. Sometimes we wonder why "me". But through prayer, reading my scriptures, and serving others I feel hope in my life.

About Me
Doctors and nurses were my friends as a young child which I thought was normal until I reached school-age and my peers made me aware of my birth defects. I have a very supportive family and they taught me to look for my strengths...scholastics. But as I excelled in school, I wanted to break out of the shell I had built around myself socially. A high school show choir changed my life. As I sang on stages and in front of groups nationally, I found the acceptance I had sought. I believe the saying "You become what others believe you to be"...in my case it was a positive picture! I wasn't always aware of others back in those days (what teenager is) but I have tried to instill this concern in my children. My daughter and I both share a love of reading while my son and I are both energetic (I was more so at his age). My husband and I lived in the city (and I LOVED it) but we chose to move back to my family's farm to raise our children. It really does take a village to raise a child and I am so thankful for those who have helped along the way...doctors, teachers, friends, family and my church.

About Me
I am educated as an accountant and spent 15 years in public practice and I am currently working in private industry. My wife and I enjoy the out doors and chasing our children through their various sporting activities. I especially enjoyed the challenge of hunting big game with a bow. My life took a turn a few years ago as a result of an accident leaving me paralyzed and in a wheel chair. I move forward with faith knowing this life and its accompanying ups and down are all part of a custom perfecting test.

About Me
I have been in construction for 10 years. I enjoy camping with my family. I love to hike to the most remote areas possible and be totally immersed in nature. One of my favorite things to do is sit at a restaurant with friends and laugh until they throw us out. I love food of all types and will try anything once. I secretly wish I had been a chef. I love to cook for my family and friends. I also love to teach people how to do things that I am good at. I like teaching a skill that I know will be helpful for a life time. I also secretly want to be a trade or skills trainer. Maybe I should be a training chef.

About Me
I am a homemaker. Don't you love that? I make a home. No, I haven't specialized in construction; nor did I study architecture. The career I chose means so much more than that to me. CS Lewis said, " The homemaker has the Ultimate Career. All other careers exist for one purpose only-- and this is to support the ultimate career". The Ultimate Career?! Think about it- Everyday, I get to: impact a life, learn to love even more, be a caregiver, a teacher, a friend, a companion, a nurse, an interior designer, a journalist, a photographer, a chef, a student, a referee, a sports star, a cheerleader, a travel agent, and most importantly a mother. I always wanted to be a mother. As college approached and I started taking classes, I was so frustrated that I didn't have a major picked out like my room mates. How was I supposed to choose between so many amazing things! After a lot of trial and error, I ended up doing what I loved with a passion: Cosmetology! I dreamed of moving to LA to do hair and make up for runway shows! Yet, for me it didn't feel right. I remembered a little girl playing house with her dolls and knew that I still wanted to me a mother. After 27 years of life, I met my Prince and we are now raising our 2 year old girl. Everyday is not easy. I think the hardest things we do are the most important. So everyday, I am learning more and more and more to make our home. I look forward to a growing family and the joy of continuing in the Ultimate Career!

I'm a Mormon. I earned a PhD in horticulture and now I manage a welfare pear orchard.
-
-
About Me
My wife and I have 5 children and a grandson that bring us constant joy and satisfaction. I've been a farmer most of my life and love the challenge of working with nature to produce healthy food for people in need. Growing pears is a really tough job. My favorite color is chlorophyll green mixed with a few seasonal anthocyanins and flavonoids. I really love the environment and try to improve the biodiversity of the orchard and to keep the ecosystem in balance. I like learning all of the time and working with my hands in all of the diverse subjects that farm involves. It covers everything from mechanical engineering to accounting to ecology. I never get tired of studying. I guess that makes me a scholar, even if I am kind of a slow learner. I like walking for exercise and gardening with a spade or fork, pushing a mower over a green lawn and eating potatoes and watermelon from our own place. Not everyone can be a farmer these days but everybody ought to be a gardener. It's good for the whole soul. There's no water fountain that looks more beautiful than a center pivot in the sunset or overhead sprinklers in the sunrise. In spite of the beauties of nature, the most beautiful creation of God is us, his offspring. People are the most important. He made the earth for us and we need to cherish this gift and use it to help each other be happy. Service is the greatest work we can do. The work we don't get paid for is the most valuable.

About Me
When I was six years old and my brother was eight my mother became a Cub Scout den mother. By the time my younger brother turned 12 and we all had graduated into Boy Scouts mom had been a den mother for eight years. When I was 16 I moved from Colorado to Northern Alberta, in Canada. I spent my high school summers as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. At the age of 19 I went to Uruguay to be a missionary full time for two years. While there I learned Spanish and have since used it to support myself. In College I followed the fruit harvest as a migrant interpreter for orchards and government offices in the Western United States. Thirty years ago I married. My wife and I have raised six children and now have 19 grandchildren. I have always dreamed of being able to help my fellowmen. After graduating from the University of Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada I returned to the Western United States and began working for the government in public assistance. In my career I have been able to provide food, money and medical assistance to those in need while arranging training and education for them to become self sufficient. My dream of helping my fellowmen has become a reality.

For 20 years, I have worked for the state of Washington as a welfare worker, I am married with five children, and I'm a Mormon.

-
About Me
I have been married 25 years and have five children. My family is the greatest blessing in my life and I can't think of anything in the world that means more to me. My greatest memories are times spent with them. Everything else is almost an interuption to spending time with family. I grew up on a small farm in Michigan. As a youngster, I worked beside my grandfather on projects on the farm. There was always work to do. In my adolescence, fished the trout streams nearby. In college, I earned a degree in fisheries, specializing in trout and salmon culture. I still enjoy fishing whenever I get the chance. My love of the outdoors is what lured me to the Pacific Northwest. Over the years, I've been on wilderness backpack and canoe trips with family members. This year my son and I summitted Mt Adams (12,000+ feet), one of Washington's strato-volcanos. I will be returning to Mt Adams next summer--this time with my duaghter, who wants to sumit with me. We are also training and making preparations to summit Mt Ranier (14,000+ feet) in two years. I love reading--primarily autobiographical works. I love personal accounts of those who have gone before and learning of their struggles and triumphs. For the last 20 years, I have worked for the State of Washington as a welfare worker. Though I never thought I would end up doing what I do, I believe in what I do and of its importance to the community. I love my clients and working with folks who have fallen on hard times.
